Boat Safety Clinic (Ages 12-17)

THIS CLASS IS FULL. WE ARE TAKING A WAIT LIST TO POSSIBLY ADD ANOTHER CLASS IF WE GET ENOUGH. Please call Community Education to get your name on the list.
The annual boat safety clinic is a one stop
opportunity for local youth to learn safe
boating and personal watercraft skills. You
will receive focused instruction and will
meet local DNR and sheriff’s department
staff responsible for enforcement of
boating regulations on Prior Lake. You will
complete a requisite DNR workbook and
wrap up a full morning by completing the
DNR exam and certification application.
The exam requires a passing grade in order
to be certified to operate watercraft on the
lake. The test is scored by the DNR. You
will receive your certificate by mail from
the DNR upon successfully completing
the clinic and exam. Fee includes pizza
and pop following the clinic. Cosponsored
by the Prior Lake Association, ISD 719
Community Education Services, Scott
County Sheriff’s Office and the DNR.
